Amalie Smith på Åby Bibliotek

Forfatter og billedkunstner Amalie Smith har indtaget Åby Biblioteks udstillingsmøbel LitteraturStedet med film, fotografier og skulpturelle objekter, og holdt i forbindelse med åbningen en Artist Talk for en tætpakket bibliotekssal.

Udstillingen Touching the Interface tager udgangspunkt i Amalie Smiths film Eyes Touching, Fingers Seeing, som blev vist første gang på Kunstakademiets afgangsudstilling på Charlottenborg i 2015 – en 15 minutter lang essayistisk billed- og tekstcollage om forholdet mellem syn og berøring i billedkunsten sat i relation til nyere tids touch-teknologier.

I udstillingen Touching the Interface vises filmen på LitteraturStedets to mindre skærme, mens introsekvensen looper på den største skærm. Udstillingen består desuden af en serie fotografier, som opklæbet på skumpap læner sig mod møblets displayhylder, en skitse til et hulemaleri anno 2016, samt en serie nyproducerede berøringsfølsomme Oasis-skulpturer, der blandt andet indeholder plasticmad købt i Japan.

LitteraturStedet er et udstillingsmøbel på Åby Bibliotek tegnet af arkitekt Gitte Schelde, og har huset skiftende udstillinger siden april 2011.

Udstillingen skulle have været åben til og med 2. marts, men i bibliotekets ubemandede åbningstid blev størstedelen af den japanske plasticmad stjålet fra udstillingen, og biblioteket har derfor set sig nødsaget til at pakke udstillingen sammen før tid.
