Skulpturens blottede ribben er inspireret af ‘blodørnens’ billedsprog – en torturmetode fra Vikingetiden, hvor offerets ribben tvinges åbne fra ryggen som et par blodige vinger – og er en refleksion over traumet ved at blive forstummet, fordrevet og langsomt udslettet, mens man stadig er ved bevidsthed.
