Searching for comfort in an uncomfortable room is a solo exhibition of new works by Kristina Bengtsson. Dealing with work, rest and play these works are combined in an installation specifically made for Vermilion Sands which asks how we find and maintain agency in our working lives.
Kristina Bengtsson is an artist born in Lund and living in Copenhagen since 2010. She studied at at Lunds University, Glasgow School of Art and the Academy of Visual Arts, Leipzig. Working with photography, text and sculpture Bengtsson explores the intersection between language, society and identity. In her practice she plays with cultural choreographies and how they are shaped and understood, with a particular interest in labour and autonomy.
